Belinda L. Spears, Ed.D., is an educator who has been teaching for over 21 years in the Prince George's County Public School system in Maryland. Her educational background includes a Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences from the University of Houston-Downtown in 1999, a Master's Degree in Special Education from Bowie State University in 2007, and a Doctorate in Education from Northcentral University in 2017. Dr. Spears has taught at all levels of education including elementary school, middle school, high school, and adult education.
B. L. Academic Services, LLC was founded to foster strong academic skills through individual tutoring, specifically among elementary school students. Dr. Spears believes that cultivating academically strong students can be achieved by providing a firm academic foundation early on in their academic careers. Educational reinforcement is an important tool in creating a firm academic foundation. In addition, educational reinforcement equips students with the leverage to excel to their highest potential.
B. L. Academic Services, LLC specializes in assisting elementary students who are struggling academically and may require individualized instruction to have concepts explained in a way that makes sense to them and which is at their level of understanding. This new knowledge can then be applied in the classroom.
B. L Academic Services offers support to students with special needs who are transitioning from high school to college. Support is also offered to students with special needs who need help looking for employment after transitioning from high school.
